RST Solutions launches new absorbing solution for sealing dams
Leading Australian dust management company Reynolds Soil Technologies (RST Solutions) is expanding into Australia’s water management market, with their latest super-absorbent technology providing an immediate sealing and soil stabilisation solution for leaking dams.
As part of their new Geopolymers product range, designed and validated in conjunction with award-winning Queensland based-company Proof Engineers, RST Solutions has now released its latest product ‘Damliner’ – a high absorption cross-linking polymer crystal granulate, capable of instantly sealing and preventing leakages in earthen dams and other porous ground material.
Comprising an innovative blend of water soluble and insoluble polymers, Damliner has been designed to activate on immediate contact with water and will automatically move towards any channels or voids in the dams base. On contact with the dams lining, the crystal polymers electrochemically inter-react with the soil chemistry, causing the product to physically expand to form an impermeable matrix with the structural capability of containing tonnes of water.
Providing an alternative solution to using HDPE membranes, RST Solutions Operations and Technical Director David Handel said Damliner was at the leading edge of geotechnical sealing applications, engineered to prevent water loss from earthen dams caused by poor construction, erosion, damaged material or environmental occurrences.
In addiction, the advanced technology allows for the product to reform if its membrane has been disturbed helping to maintain its performance and ensure ongoing durability.
RST Solutions has more than 25 years experience specialising in total dust management, soil stabilisation and erosion, water management for mine sites, civil projects, ports and land sites in Australia and overseas.
